Aum Foundation is proud to announce a $75,000 grant from The Boeing Company to expand our work with
students throughout Selma and Dallas County, Alabama.
The investment will support the 2027 expansion of Aum Foundation’s Pathways Program and Aum
Rising, helping create a stronger pipeline connecting students to education, mentorship, career exploration
and opportunities for long-term economic independence.
Through this expansion, Aum expects to serve approximately 180 students across Selma and Dallas
County, including approximately 160 students through Aum Rising and 20 young women receiving intensive
support through the Pathways Program. All 180 projected participants represent rural, Title I and
underserved communities.
Building a Pathway from High School to the Workforce
Aum Rising introduces 11th-grade students to leadership, communication, college and career planning,
STEM and innovation-focused opportunities. The Pathways Program builds upon that foundation by
providing high-achieving, under-resourced young women with intensive mentorship, academic support,
ACT preparation, career exploration, technology and postsecondary planning.
Boeing’s support will allow Aum to expand Aum Rising from approximately 75 students to approximately
160 students while growing the intensive Pathways cohort from 13 to 20 students. Funding will also help
provide scholarships, laptops and calculators, ACT preparation, transportation, career workshops, job
shadowing, employer visits, student engagement opportunities and mentor recruitment and support.
The expansion will reach students across the Selma and Dallas County area, with primary school partners
including Selma High School, Southside High School, Dallas County High School and Keith High
School.
Creating Access to Opportunity
Students in Selma and Dallas County have tremendous academic and professional potential, but barriers
including rural distance, limited enrichment resources, technology gaps and fewer professional networks
can make accessing college and career opportunities more difficult.
This investment will help Aum bring those opportunities directly to students.
Students will participate in experiences ranging from college and workforce-readiness workshops to ACT
preparation, career panels, STEM exposure, mock interviews, job shadowing and employer site visits. By
combining early exposure through Aum Rising with the sustained mentorship and individualized support of
Pathways, Aum aims to create more than a series of individual programs. It is building a long-term pipeline
from education to meaningful careers.
